A group exhibition with the Monterey Bay Plein Air Association with a focus on paintings depicting sunsets, nocturnes and sunrises.  I am please that 3 of my paintings have been accepted into this juried event.......

Now celebrating its 17th year, the Carmel Art Festival is a public benefit event held to educate and inspire people of all ages about the visual arts. 

Artists will be painting plein air throughout Carmel all day Thursday and Friday.   On Saturday , 5/15, all of the completed paintings will be exhibited and for sale from 10am - 6pm in Devendorf Park (Award Ceremony at 5pm).  
On Sunday there will be Quick Draw in the morning from 9am-11am immediately followed by a Silent and Live Auction at 11:30am in Devendorf Park.

A charitable affair and fun evening to benefit the Alameda Hospital Foundation.

The term plein air is derived from the French expression “en plein air” which can be translated as “in the open air.” It is particularly used to describe the act of painting outdoors from life, using direct observation of nature with the intention of catching a sense of natural light on the landscape. Paintings done outside are completed in a relatively short time, as the artist works to capture the scene before the light changes significantly. Artists have long painted outdoors, but in the mid-19th century working in natural light became particularly important in impressionist painting. California has a long tradition of producing great plein air painters. Learn more about this memorable art form and discover what inspires the 21 gifted artists in this exhibit. 

On display will be 2 paintings of mine that have been juried into this event along with several others that will be in accordance with the theme.
